This was a fun model. Nice and big so you can work on the little tiny details without messing up. Lots of details and lots of paint needed because of the scale of this model. Big and easy to put on stickers and all of the parts fit! great model! recommend it for anyone!!

Biggest of the WWII heavies, still a great kit

This was the biggest major aircraft of WWII and caps a collection of WWII aircraft in 1/48th scale.
The kit can be built as a conventional bomber with all the turret guns, as well as the atomic bomber version with all but the tail guns removed and replaced with flush fairings. There are also models of the Fat Man and Little Boy atomic bombs and ground crew if a diorama is desired.
The pieces are molded in dull aluminum, black, and clear, and because the B-29 was almost always deployed without camouflage in WWII, the kit can be reasonably produced without paint, but a modeler advanced enough to make this kit will doubtless want to paint it, particularly the extensive interior.
I don't see any downsides to this kit, or the other big bombers in the Monogram series now re-released by Revell.
