This is a great item from Kato. With the TCS decoder, the running characteristics are greatly improved without any CV programming. My hope is that kato will also produce the 4014 bigboy next year. These two in a consist will look wonderful.

I didn't want any sound so I got this version of the FEF-3. It's perfect for a desktop setup and it's so smooth, quiet, and strong. It's all plastic and the details are above anything i've ever encountered before. I kind of wish it were metal but it will surprise you with its tractive effort; I sure as heck was. Definitely recommend!
