"Great Paint!"

Great paint. Most paints with metallics in them are hard to spray because the metal all sinks too the bottom to fast, but I did not seem to have that problem with this one. Consistantsy and quality is great.

"Acrylic X10 Gunmetal"

As you may know, the true gun metal is actually a bronze alloy, but the U.S. eventually started making guns out of steel. Anyway, the gun metal we see here is a dark grey color that is kind of a cross between dark silver and dark steel. This color is like this to represent the gun you see on aircraft and other vehicles. This paint can also be used to color wheels/ engines. This product is great when trying to achieve the finish of metal on many vehicle parts, as you can see, so it's kind of an alloy of its own; it has many purposes.

Tamiya acrylic paints, are great, this gunmetal is a very good example. For military vehicles builders, like me, its an indispensable tool for a lot of finishing details. Although, for some darker metals, you´ll need to mix it a little bit with black, it´s highly recommended.

This is a dark greyish almost black color with a slightly flaky shine effect to it. It's not pure gloss, which I like. You can mix it with silver to lighten it up and find the shade you like. For guns or blued steel objects I use this paint straight from the bottle and drybrush silver over it to simulate worn spots on the high areas. If it's too shiny you can tone it down with a clear flat sealer.
