"Good quality miniatures"

Came in great condition, only needed minor clean up from sprue molding. The number of models is handy between dioramas and wargames.

"Okay beginner's set"

I was not overly impressed with this set, overall. The figures are loaded with flash, and some of the modelling isn't that great, especially on rifles. However, the poses are original and cool-looking, definitely trench warfare-style figures. I really like the two officers standing, hands behind back, presumably inspecting a trench or something. The corpse and wounded man on stretcher are particularly appropriate - after all, this is WW1 we're talking about. My main problem was that the machine gun crew was really hard to fit into the wholes, and even once I glued it, they came apart. Difficult and annoying element, just did not add anything to the set. A machine gun crew is a great idea, but the whole thing could have used a lot more thought.

Figures are molded in gray plastic, bases large enough to hold soldiers upright, and a nice variety of poses.

"Great sculpting for a set First Released in the 60s"

This is a really good set of the German infantry from the early stages of WWI. This set was first released in 1966 but it is hard to tell. The sculpts still hold up after all these years. The one down side is there is a lot of flash (excess plastic) that is needed to be removed to show the true beauty of these figures. There are 20 unique sculpts in the set which is a lot for any set. There is a machine gun team that will probably need to be glued together. I had trouble gluing them, but I am a relative novice at model making. This is definantly a great set worth buying.
