Surface Primer L Gray

I use this on just about every model I build; it coats evenly and takes layers very well. Much better than whatever rattlecan primer you can snag in the paint dept. As mentioned, the can is a bit light but it’ll give you plenty of paint for several projects. If you don’t have an airbrush, this is the best substitute for your primer coating.

The primer is of the ok quality. It is not a full bottle though. It will deplete after about two models use. I use it on my two tank models. I think it is slightly higher priced. If it would cost half the price, I would give it a 5-star rating.

Building models for many years I have used many primers. Some good some not so good. Tamiya surface primer is by far the best primer I have used. The qualities of the primer include great surface coverage, fast dry time and ease of sanding. The primer will definitely show inaccuracies quickly once it is allowed to dry. Fixing these problems is a snap with how easily the primer sands. A top choice of primers to keep on hand.
