"Mitsubishi G4M2E Type 1 Attack Bomber Review"
Alex Biever
This 1/72 scale kit is from a Japanese model company that I have built very few of called Hasegawa Hobby Kits. You have four versions you could build as well as if you want to have the Ohka on a display rack or under the Betty’s bomb bay. The one I’ve chosen is on the cover from the 721st Naval Flying Group 711th Attack Squadron 3rd Section Ibaragi Kounoike AB. March 1945. I-13 is the name of my Ohka. You could also do I-10 or I-18 on any version you like to build. The other three versions included are: (1) 721st Naval Flying Group 711th Attack Squadron 1st Section Kagoshima Kanoya AB. April 1945. (2) 721st Naval Flying Group 711th Attack Squadron 2nd Section Kagoshima Kanoya AB. March 1945. (3) 721st Naval Flying Group 708th Attack Squadron Kagoshima Kanoya AB. April 1945. The building and painting of the kit is a very pleasing experience! Just about everything fits just the way it should although I did lose a piece that goes on the bottom of the wing. I just found a piece from one of my boxes of unused parts, trimmed and painted it to match the missing piece as close as possible. However you’ll need to have some painters tape to fill in the gapes of the fuselage of the Betty bomber because for whatever reason it doesn’t fit properly. Only two decals suffered minor damage with easy fixes! To all modelers out there, take your time on this, put a few small completed sections of this kit in tiny boxes and you’ll have hardly any problems with this one. For the final rating of this kit, I give it a perfect 5 out of 5! Don’t let this gem slip away from your fingers!
