This is without a doubt the most detailed 1/72 scale Zero in existence. If it isn't, I'll eat my hat. The cockpit gives you the usual seat, control column, and instrument panel, then adds two or three tiny parts to each side, plus a decal for the seat harness. I wish I'd taken a photo before I glued the fuselage together. Typical of Tamiya, the fit is nearly perfect, and most of the parts -- even the smallest ones, like the landing gear hatches -- go together easily. The only hurdle I faced was matching the cowling to the intake beneath the nose, but this hasn't been a problem in other build reviews I've read. Options are limited, probably because the A6M5 didn't have many in real life: no matter which scheme you choose, it will be dark green over light gray. However, you do get two different canopies in case you want it open -- which you should, with a cockpit like that. Also included is a short history of the A6M series in several languages.
