The Utah beach created a lot of concern for being in the north end of the operation and near to the peninsula of Contentin (with the port of Cherbourg there), for that reason, to this sector were added 2 divisions of parachutists, behind the enemy lines, supporting the 4th US inf. Division at the beaches. This book, as usual with the Campaign series, analyse commanders, the planing, equipments and the armies, before and during the battle and it tells the story from both sides, attacker and defender. Then comes all the action in D-Day beaches in Utah, and also with the american parachutists inside the enemy territory. Full color 3-D ‘bird’s-eye-views’, battle scenes and maps as well as color and black and white photographs that support's the text. It's a great book for enthusiasts of this type of history. I really enjoyed reading it, especially the description of the airborne operations.
