"First build of a New Orleans class cruiser"
mmegee616
Build this one as my first of a class of the New Orleans class. Plan on bulding more to complete the class. The only problem I had was with the searchlight platform as it did fit right for me. Would recommend for anyone planning building up the early war ships. Another problem I experienced with this was the attachment of the 8 inch main guns in the turrets as I think that Trumpter could have made more room to attach the guns into the turrets to.

"Straightforward kit to build, impressed with detail"
cdnmodeller (Edmonton, AB)
This kit is one of the better ones of a U.S. Navy cruiser to build. It's available with either waterline or full hull, depending on your preference. Even though there are a fair number of smaller parts, they are relatively easy to detach from the molds. The one complaint I found was that in 1 or 2 steps, the instructions show where to place specific parts but they do not ID the part to be placed, forcing the modeller to search for the part on the molds, resulting in some guesswork. Having said that, this did not cause a major problem with assembly and the rest of it went quite smoothly. I'd recommend this kit for anyone wanting to add to a U.S. Navy collection.
