"A nice model poorly moulded"

I purchased this model to complete a diorama of sorts on my O scale model railroad. The good is that it is supposed to be a true 1:48 of a prototypical for year vehicle of a type seen in a gas/oil facility. True vintage 1:48 non-miltary trucks are rare. Now the bad. Numerous very visible parts were not fully formed. For instance the front tire/wheels were not fully shaped. The truck cab back was not fully formed. The inside of the dual tire/wheel assemblies were not fully formed. The tank trailer upper half has six deep indents corresponding to the inside locating pins very visible on the outside. One of the two included figures has nearly a hole through the mid-section - can't use it. I did contact the company. No response or acknowledgement. I can repair most of these very visible defects with plastic filler and hours of shaping and refilling as necessary. Yes it will take multiple applications of filler. It is sad there is no glazing included and even reasonable looking headlights

"Good Kit"

This was the first Atlantis Kit I have assembled and was very happy with it. I was a little perplexed that no windows came with the kit, nor did the instructions show it; the box illustration shows a front window. TES1224 Green (Testors Green) was a great match for the Sinclair green needed.
 
"Brought back memories"

One of those kits from the past you would buy with money earned from mowing lawns! Fit is questionable with a lot of sink holes but it still builds into a decent kit with a little putty and sanding. Recommend purchasing the windshield from Atlantis since it’s not included. I remember there being other versions: Mobil-Socony and Shell. It’s a good rainy day kit.

I am 75 and did the old kit way back when. This new kit from the old molds is worlds better. I am painting up the engine and under carriage detail and it is looking good. The flash and ejector pin marks aren't too bad, I have seen worse. A great kit for someone who will work on it with care and practice all of the tricks for making a fine model for display.
