Tyrone Malone Kenworth Transporter Papa

I built a 1980's version of this kit marketed as BJ and the Bear. Great kit with self adhesive (not water slide) decals based on the 1979 - 1981 TV show but this won't apply to you since those decals were specific only for that particular kit. The BJ and the Bear basically is the same Kenworth aerodyne cabover truck as this dragster transporter kit but without the covering bodywork (you can view in my gallery posted). My only complaint is that AMT marketed the kit with this extended chassis and now years after, I will have to revisit this kit to cut and shorten the chassis to make it look more proportionate. Just remember if you want to build a regular cabover and not a dragster transport, to shorten the chassis. Decent detail but I found the Kenworth W925 Conventional, also by AMT, had a few more parts and detail. Be very gentle handling this kit after completion if you are building it as a regular cabover with no rear bodywork since all the weight is on the front of the model attached by two free moving hinges and a rear resting beam. Good fitting parts but test the levelness of the axles so all the wheels rest on the ground at the same time. Overall still a great kit to build.
