Fast & Furious 1970 Dodge Charger

Really good kit would order again. Just the reason I put 4 stars is because on one of the chrome peices the peg was broke were it attached to the other part. But other than that its perfect

I had to start over in this hobby due to losing everything in a house fire, and I started by building 3 of the Moebius kits in the Batman series I could brush paint them. This model is the first that I used spray paint other then flat white for primer. I had a doctors appointment in a nearby town that has a small hobby shop that sold Tamiya paints, so I bought the paints I needed there for this kit. I'm the movie, my favorite car is Dominic's Charger, as I love the older cars. So this one I had to build when I saw it. The detail of the pieces is excellent, as there was no flash on any of the pieces to clean up. Everything fit together well, but I had a problem.with the radiator assembly. The instructions showed them going straight into the front of the car, but the bottle of it goes behind the bottom piece of the chassis. Because of this, when I went to glue the front body pan to the body in step 14, there was a gap between the body and the chassis. I had to use Super Glue to get the parts together. There has been problems with Revell instructions in the kits I've built in the past, and this kit is no exception. In addition to the above problem, in step 14 they called out to paint the grill rust, instead of the flat black it shows on the box art. In step 18, it calls out to paint the front marker lights transparent orange, and the rear marker lights gloss red. This would be a waste of time and paint because decals 6 and 7 for the front marker lights are orange, and decals 8 and 9 for the rear marker lights are red. I used chrome bare metal foil for the window trim, so I also used it for the marker lights and put the decals over top of them. I used micro set and micro sol on the decals so they would adhere better. But the biggest problem is in step 4. It tells you to use white glue to attach decal 1 to the dashboard. I put in on the front of the dashboard, as it wasn't clear if this decal went on the front or the back of the dashboard. It then said to attach clear part 106 to the back of the dashboard. This didn't make any sense as this part wouldn't be seen. I then wondered why they told you to use white glue to attach this decal, as it could have been attached like a normal decal. So I removed it and glued it to the back of the dashboard, but then if you attached part 106 it would go through the decal. So I didn't use that part. My guess is that you were to install part 106 first, and then install the decal to the back of the dashboard. What makes it even more confusing is a photo of the dashboard on the of the box shows the decal on the front of the dashboard, but it covers the whole dashboard. This decal only covers the gauges. But other that these problems it is an excellent addition to a collection. I appreciate the fact that Revell chose to make this kit, as this movie series is very popular, and this car has been in most of the movies in the series.

The kit itself is very nice and well detailed. The parts fit is excellent and it builds into a decent replica of Dom's car. The door panels and console/shifter are not accurate to the movie car, but that can be looked over due to the overall nice quality of the kit. It is a subject specific kit, so there are very few extra parts. The instructions are very easy to follow, and this is a fairly easy build.
