BMW i8 Sports Car

While the kit ended up looking pretty good, I was not happy with several things. On the Mercedes I did, the gull wing doors could be open or closed. On this one, it is open or closed. I really didn't want the doors wide open permanently. But it took some fitting to get the doors to mesh closed. They simply didn't fit right. Several of the photos were very hard to figure out. The body did not fit onto the chassis properly due to the fact that the dash assembly was in the way. There was only one way to cement the dash, so I know I didn't do it wrong. Finally I had to remove the dash, cut it down, and force the body into place. Not what I expect from a German Revell kit. It was not clear where a number of decals go. The front and rear bumpers did not fit right and required more cutting and fussing. The holes for the wipers were way down below the hood and impossible to find. I just glued them to the windshield. Finally, there is a plastic frame for the rear window that is so thin, it broke in two with very minor handling. I had to glue it together and struggled to get it and the window to match up. This is not my first kit by far, so my concerns are valid I think. The motors went together well. I tried a color shift paint for the first time. It turned out well. There is nice detail on the dash and interior. I seldom do not recommend a kit, but I voting that way here. Unless you don't mind fiddling with a lot of things, I don't recommend this kit.
