Finally a 1/48 kit of a Do 217J. First thing is make sure you study the instructions as there are TWO different variants you can build. ICM did a pretty good job on this one as there are only a few small fit issues. The biggest fit problem I ran into was a gap in the forward part of the upper wing half and had to use some Evergreen stock to fill it. The instructions have a few areas where they are a little vague (Namely the paint instructions for the cockpit) so get ready to do some research. Another area to be aware of is the cowlings as each one is 7 parts. You have to assemble them just right. If you do, the engine slides right in, if not.....UGH. There is really good detail throughout this kit, I did add p/e seat belts, including the wheel bays and bomb bay (ICM even provides the bomb bay fuel tank). The engines look great out-of-box but once the fans, props and spinners are on you don't see much. Take your time, read the instructions and test fit...test fit...test fit and you'll have a nice looking twin engine night fighter.
