This was my first Pegasus kit, but definitely not my last. The Cosmostrator appeared in the classic SF film, First Spaceship on Venus and Pegasus has done a fine job of duplicating the outline of the ship from the film. The kit is very simple to assemble. The plastic used (except perhaps for the clear part) is not the typical polystyrene but ABS, the same plastic used in modern plumbing pipe among other things. However, be of good cheer: Tamiya extra-thin cement and LocTite super glue worked very well on it. I enjoyed working with the ABS--it's super-smooth and very sturdy. Painted up it looks terrific. All the kit's parts fit together very snugly and little filling/sanding was required. There's minimal detail to worry about--both a good and a bad thing. The ship's unusual shape, its main claim to fame, is well-captured by the kit. CONS: Size (completed, it stands about 8.5 inches high)--I would have liked it to be bigger. Safety--the tips of the engine nacelles and the main crew/cargo structure are EXTREMELY sharp--not a kid-friendly kit so be careful! Finally, NO DISPLAY BASE came with my kit, although the HobbyLinc product site mentions that one is included--perhaps later editions than mine have one, but I'd doublecheck with HobbyLinc before ordering. Overall, this kit is tons of fun to build, paint, and just admire once completed.
