Star Trek Romulan Bird of Prey

This is a nice little kit that lends itself to LED lighting. Only a few pieces in the kit, so should not be intimidating for the beginner.

Everything fits together very well--hardly any filler required. Some sanding of seams was necessary as with any such kit. Hard to say how accurate it is since the original model was destroyed over fifty yeas ago but it looks dead on from any angle compared to clips from the shows and behind-the-scenes photos. I liked the first kit so much I bought another to kitbash some Klingon engines onto. I just wish they would make one in 1/350th scale.

My son bought this for my birthday. It made a really simple but enjoyable weekend project. Fit was very good though I did use a bit of modelling cement on all major seams to make the joints permanent and help close the gaps. The decals for the bird on he underside are large but went on quite easily and look great. I painted it in a very light grey with a couple of drops of silver to give it a sheen like the one seen in the TV series. the Bussard collectors are painted in a light yellow-green color , painted on the inside of the clear parts. nice build and not a bad starting point for a youngster starting in the hobby with a bit of adult supervision
