"Good Model"

Got this model as a first build after a 6 year break in building. Great model, instructions leave a little to be desired though.

"Instructions and part numbers"

These models were fun to assemble, but the instructions were very vague and hard to follow, especially when you start the second model and you aren't sure of the parts you are about to use. All and all with a little time and paying attention to parts already used you can use different colors to enhance the model. I used ford blue and chevy red on the same hot rod engine. Henry Ford would turn over in his grave.....

"The kit that got me back into car-modeling"

Be aware, that this is a reissue of an OLD model, first released in 1960 or so. That being said, I still found this one to be a lot of fun to build. It's a simple kit, and a bit short on detail, but builds into a nice final product for what it is. My one big gripe is that the kit doesn't include enough steelie rims to fit all four of the wide-whitewalls. Two rims fit the wide-whites, and two fit the drag slicks. Of course, the wider rims could be modified to fit the wide-whites, but I just chose to use a set of aftermarket wheels on my build. You may want to think of picking up a set of Pegasus wheels and tires to finish your build.

"A kit bashers dream"

I bought this kit and was pleased with the number of parts that came in the kit. The detail overall is good but the instructions kind of out dated compared to todays diagrams. This is an old reissue of a older kit but if your a kit basher like me then you really bought a winner. The molding quality is very well done and had very little cleanup and the parts fit was great. This kit has some cool features and you get 2 complete cars, one custom coupe and a stock roadster that can be built as a car or a truck. I built the coupe as a highboy and added a Ross Gibson 427 cammer engine that is fully detailed with wires and throttle linkage. I added some different rims and tires I had in the old parts stash. I painted the body with Model Masters bright yellow and did the interior tan and brown. I'm saving the roadster body for another day, I have something special in mind for it. I would recommend this kit for everybody no matter their skill level.
