"Who you gonna call, the Ecto!"

I saw the movie when it was first released so when I saw a model of the Ecto was available I had to get it after I returned to building models again. When I build a car it has to be something mostly geeky so this fit perfectly with my Ed Roth and Tom Daniel's builds. The model is very nicely done and fits together perfectly. I also stripped the chrome parts and painted them with Alclad chrome lacquer for better effect. I will say it does take some extra effort with all the parts but it pays off when completed. I also added an aftermarket PE set to add to the detailing. I highly recommend it for fans of the movie but remember it will take some effort for a nice shelf display when completed.

I enjoyed this model very much. I would say it is for middle to professional modelers as the inside detail is not that detailed and there is no engine to be built at all. It does allow for a good bit of detail on the outside of the car mostly in the roof rack. I would make sure to have all the needed colors to include transparent blue and red will be needed. Lastly, I would use Clear cement and window maker as there is a lot of window surface and normal glue will destroy clear and chrome pieces whereas the clear cement will not and I personally have used the Testors brand clear cement. All in all a great model to add to your collection.

"Rear bumper fitment gap"

Overall this was a very good quality kit. My only issue was that the rear bumper did not fit well against the trunk fins and left quite a large gap!

"Nice decals but detail lacking"

This was a pretty easy and fun build but a little disappointing. The vehicle is heavy in detail on the exterior and the roof rack but there is no engine as the hood does not open. Also I feel like it was a little bit of a miss with the interior. There are windows running all around the vehicle but there is little detail to be had on the inside of the vehicle. It would have been nice if there was a proton pack or two to have in the back but instead all it has is a seat and computer monitor. So in short, it is not bad but could have been much better.
