Pros - Small, inexpensive, no finishing required, press-fit, sticker-style decals, nice engine retention device included, uses inexpensive motors, flies well. Cons - old eyes may have hard time seeing it! Nice rocket. Nearly ready to fly, it requires little assembly and no modifications to perform well.

"Not quite the worst, but spend your money elsewhere"

While not an E2X fan by any standard, I can see the need for this kind of kit. Estes has this kind of kit aimed squarely at a first time flyer who wants to experience some building along with the thrill of flight in one weekend. This kit is so poorly designed that it will likely only give the buyer a sense of frustration. The biggest issue here isn't the largely plastic construction, but the inability for the 13mm engines to fit without exerting possibly fatal force onto the body tube. I plan to run a file along the inside of the plastic end cap to see if I can remove enough excess material to fit the engine in, but that's WAY more than you should have to do to get a kids rocket flying.

The bandito is a nice beginner rocket to build but there is a problem with the motor mount system. The motor is inserted directly into the body tube which is too narrow. This requires you to jam the motor into the body and presents a real possibility of ruining the rocket in the process. If you manage to get most of the motor in, it will fly but then come the problem of using pliers to remove the motor without ripping the rocket apart. For similar money, I'd recommend the Firehawk or UP Aerospace (which replaces the Gnome, a very reliable first rocket).
