While thinking of how to crew my re-released Italeri (Revell) 1/35th scale Priest I came upon the
U S Tank Crew by Miniart that has exceptional figure detailing. By placing the crew in various poses that are very realistic I was able to show the vehicle on the move or perhaps in a simple rest stop. The figures are highly detailed with lots of oppurtunities to mix and match arms and legs for a perfect setting. The kit is right up there with the other U S tank crews in the 3-kit series that I have shown here as well.
As with all of my models and railroad I use craft type acrylic paints that adhere to all sorts of surfaces including styrene and with a little trick I learned a while ago that scratches the surface of parts without damaging them by using a plain green scouring pad. I then rinse the parts in luke wark water and dry with a hand held hair dryer. This method is also used to dry the layers of paint in each model. With all figures I hand paint on a basic uniform color to coat the figure and then use a thinned coating of black paint to bring out the features. After drying I apply light shades of wear and weathering on the various uniform parts.
Many kits of this brand are displayed in my collection and show off a highly sought after detailing.
