"Mean Green is Awesome!!!"
bromme007
The Mean Green is the pride of my fleet. I have launched it over 20 times with very few minor repairs needed. Easy to build and very dependable. It has out performed and out lasted every rocket I have built.

"Cool updated kit!"

The Mean Green from Quest is really on the smaller end of what I would consider a mid-powered rocket. It has a nice thick body tube, blow molded plastic nose cone and beefy fins which all contribute to make this kit capable of handling any 24mm motor you can stuff in it! I really like the decals too and the nice nylon chute and Kevlar shock cord make this kit a great value!

"Good choice for a small, mid-power rocket"

This is the first Quest kit I've built, and I've been building and flying rockets for over 40 years. This is a well made, durable kit. The body tube, engine mount rings, fins, and nose cone are all thick material. The shock cord is a Kevlar string tied to the engine mount on one end, and an elastic cord on the other, which is a very reliable design. The engine mount is for 24mm x 70mm (Estes D) engines. I modified mine to a 24mm x 95mm (Estes E) size to allow for cheaper black powder E engines. You can do this or just install the included engine mount and fly with Estes D or composite E or F 24mm x 70mm engines. The recommended engines on the box are D12-5, E15-7W, E30-7T, F32-8T, and F44-8. E15-7W is an error, and I think they mean E18-7W reloadable. F32-8T is an error, as it is a 24mm x 95mm engine which won't fit the included engine mount unless modified. This is a 4.25 oz rocket, so have a huge open field to use an E or F engine. The only complaint I have about this rocket is that both the listing and the box say that it has an 18 nylon parachute. However, the parachute in the kit was labeled 16. When I measured it, it was a 15 nylon parachute. Not a big deal, but not as advertised. This may even be better for the E and F engines. The decals are the sticker type - not my preference, but looked great on the finished rocket. Overall, a good kit.
