1966 Pontiac GTO

The quality of this kit is what you would expect from Revell; no flashing, all the parts fit the way they should and excellent assembly instructions. The interior comes in several sections which makes detailing the floor with simulated carpet and adding chrome details to the door panels very easy. The dash has clear lenses for the gauges and several decals to add realism. An added bonus for this kit are red line tires which makes for an attractive period correct display. Overall, it was fun build and the end result looks great on the shelf.

Nice kit, high quality parts. Chassis goes together easy and correctly. Interior details look good and seem to be pretty accurate. There are some parts that are chrome that I wish were not, but that's why there is Easy-Off. The front bumper seems like it does not quite fit the body correctly so having some clamps while the glue dries will help.

This is a really great model--I've built two so far. It goes together well, but be warned, there's a fair amount of chrome to paint or foil (the taillights can be especially challenging). The end result is worth the effort, though, because the completed model will look terrific on your shelf. I shim the rear springs with sheet plastic to raise the rear end a little, and the kit responds well to parts swapping--one of mine has a four barrel carb and Hurst wheels, and the next will have steel wheels and resin '66 Pontiac hub caps. This is a thoroughly enjoyable build, from start to finish!
