Petlyakov Pe3 Early Version Aircrat w/Gneis2 Radar

This kit is a very detailed kit. It includes plastic, vacu-form, resin, and photoetched details. The instructions are well done. This kit allows you to build one of two versions. The early Pe-3 or with the Gneis radar nose. The resin and photoetch details give the cockpit a high level of realism. The canopy and lower nose are vacu-form clear sections. There are some issues that will require a high degree of experience. The plastic parts (fuselage, wings, engine pods,) do not use guide pins that are typical of a plastic model. Extreme care is required to assembly these parts so they align correctly. Some of the resin details are extremely delicate. (guns, control stick for cockpit). The cons of this kit would be the panel lines are very shallow. Rescribing them is recommended. The cockpit has many details to add realism but the dashboard has no details and the seats lack seatbelts. There is a a lot of flash on the plastic parts that require trimming. The decals are just the basics but go on very well and are done well. Overall it is a very good kit and The finished kit looks great. I would recommend it for the experienced modeler.
