"It might be better, but I doubt it."

This kit is a 'made in China' one, but contrary to what one might believe this kit is well made. I just reviewed a 57 Chevy Roth version from Revell made in the USA - not good, and that is being kind. I haven't finished this kit, but so far I have been impressed with the fit. One piece even had a guide pin to insure proper positioning. Detail is really nice. Separate frame, gas tank, exhaust system, wipers, and more make detailing easy. It has a fuel filter and fuel pump with fuel lines. A distributor with the vacuum advance. I submit most kits don't have all of this at a great price. The only thing that might be missing is wires for the ignition. Check out the Revell instructions. Revell kits are not inexpensive, but the instructions, an invaluable source, are available on their site. I do have some qualms about the plastic, but I can't yet articulate what is bothersome. Maybe because the plastic is such a bright white. It looks more plastic coated than plastic. However, it is a good kit for the money. And, the 57 Fireball Roberts kit might be as good, except for the interior. But it does have a supercharger. I think it is a Paxton, but clearly better than the one that is found in the AMT 57 Ford Fairlane.

"Great Kit, but hit and miss quality of chrome tree"

This is a very well detailed and proportioned kit and does an excellent job of replicating the subject. Fit and finish are very good with little to nothing that is tricky about building this kit. The one thing that prevents it from getting a higher rating is of the 10 kits I have purchased (one of this kit, One NASCAR Version, and 8 of the Police versions) there is an issue with excessive flash on the chrome tree (no flash is present on the other parts trees). Most of the flash is easy to clean up and will not effect the overall appearance of your build however the flash on the bumpers is a bit of a problem which lead to me building a beat up old car with my kit. This kit has an excellent and expansive decal sheet with very well rendered details too small to paint that lay down so well that I have been if the details were painted on. On an interesting side note custom pieces from the AMT 57 Ford Fairlane will fit this kit as well with little to no modification so kit bashing would expand building options even further. I can't wait for the Wagon version later this year.

"Excellent kit"

First off let me say this is probably one of the best kits I've put together. Pieces aligned properly with very little to no flash and there is numerous detailed pieces such as the fuel tank and spare tire well along with fuel lines ( very delicate ). The directions tell you to install the exhaust first in step 3 but I glued my engine in first otherwise there is nothing to line the exhaust up to. Next you need to glue the chassis to the floor pan and then add exhaust and rear end components. I also shaved a small amount off the rear of the quarter glass and the upper ends of the back glass for a better fit.

"Great model of a late-50's classic"

Revell did a great job with this kit. The fit of the parts is excellent with no gaps or misalignment worth mentioning. There was a tiny bit of flash on one sprue but all the others were clean as could be. The kit detail is average for a model of this scale and price range and it would be pretty easy to superdetail the kit with a bit of time and effort. All in all one of the better car kits I've seen from Revell!
