"Very nice model, has convertible top as well as boot cover"
rarem37
This builds into a very nice model of the GT500. The interior is well molded making it easy to paint the details. It includes both the boot cover and an up-top. The decals are sharp and in register. They apply easily, but care must be taken to get the side stripes all lined up. The only problem with the kit is that the front valence panel does not attach very well. it leaves a visible gap.

"Got a lemon"

The kit I got should not have made it past quality control. Sprues warped, parts deformed, tons of flash. Very disappointed. Body was the best piece in this kit. One of those wips that might never get finished.

"Nice kit, but pay more attention than I did"

Overall this is a nice quality kit of a rare vehicle. There are some fitment issues with the tail panel that threw me for a loop. When assembling, there are some pretty large gaps between the body and parts of the tail panel. I thought it might have been a part defect, so I put a parts request in and Revell shipped me another tail panel...same issues. I went ahead and installed it, then putty'd the gaps. After all of that, I realized that after the installation of the rear bumper, the gaps would have been hidden. It was a little frustrating, but not a big deal in the end. The rest of this build is top notch. The detail is excellent and there are options along the way to build this stock or make it your own. The biggest disappointment of this build is kind of a share'd blame...I should have paid more attention, but Revell has the color listed wrong in the instructions. The Gloss Green color for the body that the instructions call for is nowhere close to the color shown on the box. I don't normally build my models the same as the box art, but I had planned to on this one because I really liked the look...I initially doubted the instructions, but chose to follow them anyway, and as soon as I sprayed the first coat I realized how far off it was, although it still looked okay so I didn't want to spend the time stripping it and starting over. I should have taken the time to research the factory paint codes beforehand, as I discovered afterwards that the color of the box art appears to be Grabber Green. I'm tempted to buy another one and salvage the body from it so I can have the correct body color.
