Lotus Super 7 Series II Sports Car

I was happy to see Tamiya release this kit of the classic British sports car. Of course it was made famous by The Prisoner show which I really enjoyed and watched during its initial US run. I also have the DVD set. This kit is up to Tamiya's excellent standards and I enjoyed building it. I will say it takes a bit of patience and I spent more effort than I originally thought I would but that was worth it in the end. So whether you just like to build cool classic sports cars or TV made famous cars this is a highly recommended kit.

Fun model...straight forward. The Tamiya seatbelts are dumb - tons of work, very difficult to get right and flimsy materials. In this model, the seat belts are an obvious detail so they do take away from the end product (at least for me at a moderate skill level).

Tamiya has this kit just right, although some tiny pieces have you pulling out your hair. This kit has a sticker sheet for different color seatbelts but it is not pre-cut so take very good care here. Also a range of photo-etched parts like radiator, grille and even BUCKLES for those seat belts (way small so spend some time here). Engine details okay but again some tricky connection points and a few places to read instructions ahead as you will need to drill holes to add options between stock or sports version. Still a great kit and way better than standard array of vehicles you see on the road. A little piece (gem) from history and well worth the effort and low price tag.
