"Great model"
carebear1701 (Rockford, IL)
This is a fantastic model kit. I just ordered it, but I built it when I was a kid. A department store was going out of business and they had all three trucks in the series discounted. In addition to this snorkel truck, there is a pumper and a ladder truck. This was my favorite. It was as fun to build as it was to look at after it was built. The detail is fantastic and everything went together great. All of the moving parts worked like they were supposed to. Just a fantastic model

"Rebuild an old build"
Toy'n Hobby (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
I must confess a strong nostalgic connection to this kit. It was the first large model I ever built as a kid. I won the local hobby shop model building contest that was held every summer in my hometown of Ft. Lauderdale. It was the mid 70’s and I used my winnings to buy this kit. I built the model and won the following year with my build. I then used those winnings to buy the AMT Pumper and Ladder Truck that AMT offered. So, this model kit has a great deal of good memories associated with it. With all that having been said, here’s my obviously biased review. I still think this is a great kit. The box and the contents look exactly like I remembered as a kid. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I still think the kit is a good value and lots of decent parts. This kit is easily customizable and you can add detail to your heart’s content with a steady hand and a good detailed brush. For anyone that enjoys the genre of heavy trucks, especially fire trucks, this is a great kit and I would highly recommend it. Originally this Fire Truck series had the Snorkel, Ladder Truck, Pumper, EMT Van and a Fire Chief Sedan. They have already released the AMT Van and I hope that AMT re-releases the other models from this series as well. I hope you found this of value and if you built this kit so many years ago as a kid, you won’t be disappointed with this as an ever so small chance to recapture your youth.

"Aero Chief truck"
I;m working on this model right now. I already found a couple of issues with the instruction booklet. I have to say that AMT / Round 2 did a great work with their very detailed instruction booklet. This model is really big. It will fit with the rest of your 1/25 cars or trucks and its super detailed. Now to the problems: The numbers for the front suspension and back suspension parts do not match the numbers on the plastic spruces. On the plastic spruces for the front suspension parts are 99 and 100, while the numbers in the instructions are 101 & 102. 101 & 102 are the numbers for the back suspension parts, so be aware while you work on the truck's chassis. Another problem is the engine block. If you are not careful, the alternator will block the way of the air hose that suppose to be connected to the filter box. But I'm very happy with the model so far. Can't wait to post photos of the model kit on
