"A fun simple build"

This is a very simple kit and easy to build. Molded in a grey/silvery plastic it could almost be built right from the box but painting will significantly improve the effort - especially the interior. Because the box is relatively large many of the pieces had fallen off the spruces during shipping. Instructions were minimal but sufficient. Paining information was adequate but don't be afraid to use your imagination when painting the interior details (controls, doors, etc). There is an aftermarket detail set available. If you decide to use I'd scrape off the raised details on the interior pieces. The decal instructions recommend using a very light color as a base on the plastic so they show up better. The exterior is not much to look at when displayed but the top comes off showing the interior if desired.

I built this kit when it was first released by Aurora during the show's initial run. Over the years it has been re-released various times by different companies. It's fantastic to see that the model has such staying power and that Atlantis saw fit to give it another release. This is actually a simple build, but it affords opportunities for lighting, although cutting out the propulsion grid and replacing it with a clear resin replica can be a bit of a challenge. I have uploaded some pictures of my complete, lighted kit.

I was not only very pleased to receive my order today, but it came early. My Invaders UFO was in fine condition, and appears to be the same as the one I had when I was a kid in the 1960's. It did seem like it took a long time to pull the item and get it shipped, but once I received notice that it was on the way, it was here. I plan to do more business with this company, I was very pleased.
