Arado Ar68E Aircraft

This 1/48 scale kit is from a Ukrainian model company called Roden. I’ve built a number of their kits over the years and they’ve been either hit or miss. This one I’m convinced is the best biplane kit or any kit from them I have ever worked on. The pros for this kit are as follows: You have four paint schemes to choose from. Well technically only two as the first three are from the same Condor Legion squadron called Jagdgruppe J/88 La Senia, Spain, 1937. They are numbered 9-1, 9-2, and 9-3. I did the first one which was on the cover of the box. The last paint scheme you could do is #4 III/JG 141 Luftwaffe, Fuerstenwalde, Germany, 1939. The illustrations are good and most of the pieces fit very well. The cons for this kit are as follows: I found out that some of the decals are not very durable, little difficult to get off the paper and ripped very easily. This was mostly for the “X” markings on the rudder and one black dot on the fuselage. I ended up touching them up with gloss black paint. In conclusion, I give this kit a perfect rating of 5 stars out of five. Roden, if you’re reading this, it is in my opinion the best kit I’ve worked on from you. All I would suggest is that you make your decals more durable like Revell and Airfix. Other than that, great job everyone!
