"Another Modified Tamiya Kit"

As Tamiya goes for quality I have always found them easily modified as this model shows. I removed the original cannon for another that I had seen in photos as there were many field modifications mine was no exception. I added an upper deck and the 20mm cannon to supplement the Tamiya German Infantry in the Winter Assault, another fine set of Tamiya action posed troops. I would recommend this kit to anyone that has experience with the tracks and suspension found on these 3/4 track vehicles that made the German design so successful over the 1/2 tracks of the U S Army.

Had a good time putting this together. No problems except with the little antenna things on the fenders. Broke the right one in half and ended up using a straight pin instead, something I have done before. There is a pic of it included in my photos. I would recommend this kit for anyone. Nothing really difficult about it. Tamiya just keeps on making me enjoy modeling. I think what really kept me interested in it was waiting for the chance to do the soldier painting the camo on the vehicle, it's the little things that make me happy.

This kit was crazy easy to build and pretty good detail. Compared to other half tracks I have built this one did not come with many extras. Great if you are building a storage yard or repair shop scene but without a gun crew it would be difficult to incorporate into a battle scene.

Another great kit from Tamiya with a lot of detail that will please any admirer of German engineering from WWII. No over flash and parts as I have found typical of Tamiya come cleanly of the sprues with minimal cleanup required. Great instruction and a very enjoyable build. I purchased a Verlinden Super Detail kit for mine as I wanted an engine to display, but the base kit would certainly turn out very well with out that.
