"Good for the price"

The price of the kit is what helps make these appealing. They are individual sand bags which is nice if you need a small sand bag wall. It would be better if the sand bags were molded as groups that you are able to put together. It also takes multiple kits to make a decent wall.

"Some many uses"

Sandbags are simply amazing. There are so many uses for them and they fit in EVERY diorama that's military themed. Even when I'm building Gundam dioramas, sandbags still fit in easily. In fact, they make Gundams look more real. Almost as if giant 50 meter tall mechs could be a actual thing. These sandbags came separate from one another and unpainted (duh) so be careful when working with them. You might lose some to the carpet monster. They are also a pain to actually painted, and eventually I got lazy and just hand painted them instead of airbrushing. Weathering them is also annoying for similar reasons. Also do note that 48 bags isn't a lot for a diorama. You'll need more if you want to make a heavy entrenchment. And as usual, typical high quality Tamiya molding with no flash and tiny seams. This one doesn't feel as expensive though :P.

"Better than making them by hand..."

This kit's sand bags are not an 'all in one' solution. They are hard plastic and don't feature any 'end' pieces so you can terminate the two sides of your sandbag 'wall'. If you want those, they are easy enough to model yourself out of sculpey, but it's a disappointment to me that a company like Tamiya would model a kit with this subject and not include them. The sand bags take quite a bit of painting to get them to look realistic for your diorama.

This is one of those kits that you can always use and it is hand to have a couple on the shelf in the hobby room. Need a quick defense point for your troops or artillery? Build them up a wall of sandbags. Sandbags have been used in all the major battles since WW-1. Tamiya's kit stands up to the quality that all Tamiya kits have. Just a little cleaning and they are ready to paint, and add to your battle scene. Keep in mind they would work in a civilian scene of emergency equipment trying to hold back flood waters. I have 3 displays that currently use them. A German supply area, a USA support area, and a German Machine gun crew. It never hurts to add a couple of these kits to your order. I am sure you will find plenty of uses, and be wanting to order more. Happy Model Building!
