"1/48 DH82a Tiger Moth Aircraft Review"

This 1/48 scale kit comes from the famous British model company called Airfix. I’ve built many kits from this company and they’ve all been very good for the most part and this one is no exception. The pros for this kit are as follows: You have two paint schemes to choose from and both are from 2018. The one I did is called K-2585/G-ANKT (formerly T6818 finished in the colors of the Royal Air Force Central Flying School Aerobatic Team, The Shuttleworth Collection, Old Warden Aerodrome, Bedfordshire, England, 2018. The other paint scheme is called K-4259/G-ANMO, Headcorn Aerodrome, England, 2018. The illustrations are once again excellent and the paint charts are in color as usual. Just the way I like it. The components fit well for the most part though they require sanding and filling the gaps with some spackle. The decals are easy to get off the paper and apply them to the plane with the exception of the big K-2585 decals that keep folding over but I managed to overcome this problem in the end with patience and skill. The cons in this kit are as follows: I found out that some of the instructions are let’s just say out of order. In pages 6 & 7, require you to put the two wings and struts on the aircraft without any mention of decals for the topside of the bottom wing. That would mean that putting on decals 11, 12, 15, and 16 to be impossible. So I took off the struts from the top of the bottom wing, applied the necessary decals on, and then finally put the struts back on. In page 8 of the instruction manual says to put on the windscreens with both wings attached. That would turn out to be quite difficult as the front windscreen is obstructed by the top wing. I’d advise all of you to put the windscreens on before you put the wings together. In conclusion, I give this kit a rating of 4 stars out of 5. Airfix if you’re reading this it is still a good kit to make but there some glitches that have to be ironed out to make it even better. Once again it’s a good one to come out of your company.
