Planet Probe Model Rocket Kit Skill Level 1

Fun to fly and easy to build model rocket kit. This cone shaped rocket is perfect for small flying areas. This kit is great for kids. They can flip the pre-printed aeroshroud over during assembly for a plain white surface they can decorate on their own. Great for "drag races". No Wadding Required - gentle tumble recovery.

"Fun rocket"
jpsalewski
This is a fun rocket to fly. I used both a B 6-0 and a C 6-0. Lots of smoke and noise, flew straight up and gently fell back. The children really enjoyed it. I made 2 adjustments when building the rocket. First I used a piece of masking tape to hold the shroud together when the glue was drying. It was easier than holding it by hand and rubbing along the glue line. Second, I added glue to the upper ring so the shroud is held together by glue at 3 locations rather than two. joe

"Planet Probe Reminds me of the Estes UFO, but up powered to 18mm"
champfluff
Neat design for up powered flying cones and my styrene Estes UFO melted down after several flights, with 'Mini' motors. Dare to launch this rocket with composite 18mm motors and assemble with C/A adhesive, or epoxy for epic launches. Use aluminum duct tape, for ablative coating the interior of the tip, for less char and soot accumulation, then you can use a short delay for tracking. Have fun, with this trick mod, you will be impressed.

This one went together very nicely and I look forward to launching this one.

"My 9 year old loves this little rocket!"

If you are looking for something a little different, this one is for you. Boost this little guy up on a B6-0 or C6-0. No delay because it has no parachute! It simply flips over and glides straight back to the ground. No long walks to recover this one. It has lots of drag so it goes up a bit slower with lots of smoke. The kids at our club launches really enjoy seeing it go up! My 9 year old easily built this with just a little bit of help. No painting necessary with the pre-printed design. If you want to, flip the cardboard shroud over and let your kids paint or color it with markers for that personal touch. No modifications are necessary. This kit flies extremely well build as directed.
