I'm not sure why, but for me big rigs are very fascinating. So what's better then having building big rigs model kits and specially vintage ones? This new kit from AMT is great, just the other ones that they have, but it also has its flaws. I'm in the middle of the building process and the the main thing I found rather annoying is the fact that AMT didn't cut the extra vinyl in the supplied wheels. You have to work carefully with an Exacto knife in order to remove the extra vinyl / plastic from the center of the wheels. I did write to AMT about it, but once you spend the extra time to remove the excess plastic, you are good to go. The instructions are good and AMT included a color index on them, so when you put together the model kit, you know exactly which paint and colors you need to use. My rate for this model kit is: 8.5/10

The original release of this kit was 1972, and the box art was green truck with consolidated freightways logo on it. This kit look's good hitched up to the Double trailers AMT made years ago. Enjoy Fellow builders, this is a great reissue kit!!
