The OV-10A Bronco was designed principally as a counter-insurgency aircraft which gives it the ability to perform high precision attacks on ground targets The aircraft also has a cargo compartment which can carry 5 paratroopers, or two stretchers and a medic. More recent versions of the aircraft have also been used in the forward air controller (FAC) directing other aircraft. A primary design feqture of the OV-10 is its twin boom layout and the aircraft is powered by a pair of Garret T76-G-10 turboprops. The OV-10 saw considerable service in Vietnam and is used by the US Air Force and Marine Corps.
