This is a really well detailed kit. It does have a lot of very small easy breakable pieces, so be careful. I ordered the wood deck decal which makes the kit look very nice, however the decal is for the 1945 version and doesn't match the 1991 version. BE SURE WHICH ONE YOU GET.

"Great Model"
jferber1992123 (Stony Point, NC)
This model is quite high in detail, and even somewhat more difficult to build than other models. Three of the guns are free rotating; however, the barrels do not move on this model. The kit is very large, especially for the price you are paying for it. Ultimately a great model, but ,if you are in to having a lot of detail and willing to put down more money for a Missouri model, I would buy the upgrade kit for this model or Trumpeter's 1/200 USS Missouri which would be nearly twice the size and have a lot more detail than Tamiya's.

EXCELLENT KIT NICE DETAIL, THE FINISH WAS VERY GOOD SHOWING GREAT DETAIL JUST WITH THE PLASTIC PARTS BUT I UPGRADED THE BARRELS WITH BRASS AND HAVE BRASS RAILING COMING TO FINISH IT OFF, SOME OF THE PARTS ARE VERY DELICATE, INSTRUCTIONS ARE VERY GOOD AND GREAT PICS OF PARTS, THE KIT IS GREAT TO PUT TOGETHER, THE PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS IS VERY GOOD, I PAINTED MINE WITH ACRYLIC PAINT AND APPLIED A GLOSS CLEAR TO FINISH

"A GOOD SHIP TO ASSEMBLE"
Zeke (Thailand)
Let me start by saying, I do not the ship is worth the cost of $130.00. It was a good ship to assemble but I couldn't believe how many parts that wasn't used. You are paying for a lot parts not being used. The direction was easy to follow for the most part. There was little to no problem with parts fitting. The paint scheme is excellent. There is a large amount of small parts but they were manageable to work with. This is a large ship, I think a little over 30. The paint scheme calls fo two paint to be mixed but I didn't have enough on hand so I used Intermediate Blue. The paint scheme called for Field Blue and Light Grey to be mixed.

Comments

Due to small parts that could cause a choking hazard please kee away from children 3 years of age and younger.
