U.S.S. Aircraft Carrier Essex CV9

So far, this model has been somewhat disappointing. Three small parts molded into the main deck were sheared-off right out of the packaging. They're tiny, so I can chalk it up to battle damage. The fit of the first deck to the main upper hull is mediocre. I've begun installing structural parts on which the flight deck will be mounted. They are not fitting very well, but won't be too visible once the ship is painted and they are in the shadow of the flight deck. I did use some putty to fill a gap that was too wide to ignore. I've also been surprised by how much flash I've encountered with some of the larger pieces. Again, not a big deal per se, but it's a waste of time cleaning them up, and not expected on a model at this price point. I'll write a part 2 review after more progress with the build.
