Any true salt from WWII and Vietnam would take great pride in having this ship on display in their den or Pilot House . It is awesome. Intricate detail with easy to follow instructions. A little research concerning color shades and signal flags renders a model of splendid detail and realism.

The history, included in a booklet with the model, is fantastic. A medium difficult build but still fun. Mounted mine to wood as a gift.

"Nice model but be prepared to spend more to complete it."

To me this model is a joke. $130.00 for a model ship that doesn't come with any railing. The only railing that comes with the kit is for around the heliport. and that doesn't resemble anything like the real thing. If you want the railing around the deck you have to buy a photo etch kit that will cost you another $40.00 dollars. Now your up to $170.00 dollars. Had I known that there was no railing with it, I would not have bought it. I know one thing I will not buy another Tamiya model. The only reason I gave it three stars is because it dose have some good detail.

Due to small parts that could cause a choking hazard please kee away from children 3 years of age and younger.
