F-16CJ Falcon Misawa Japan

This kit has some nice surface details and includes some nice optional parts if you wish to use them. The kit includes parts for both types of intakes and the narrow and bulged main landing gear doors. The instructions tell you to use the wide mouth intake and the bulged gear doors so you'll have some spares for another kit afterwards. Cockpit detail is provided by decals on smooth panels. The kit also includes two different styles of pilot helmet for the pilot figure. My issues with the kit were some minor fitments issues with the cockpit tub and that I would have liked a longer tab for mounting the vertical stabilizer onto the aircraft. I always build my kits with the gear up and that required some trimming and filling for the rear gear doors. I did not use the included parts for the SEAD load-out and instead built the kit with a LANTIRN pod and a pair of GBU-12s from a Hosegawa weapons set, a pair of AGM-45 Mavericks from another kit, AIM-120 AMRAAMs on the wingtips, and AIM-9 Sidewinders on 2 and 8. I used an aftermarket decal set for the 482nd FW/93rd FS out of Homestead ARB. Overall this is a pretty nice kit that went together pretty quickly that looks very nice after painting and decals.
