B-58 Hustler Bomber Military Aircraft Plane

Been wanting this kit since I was a kid , and finally got it! Glad I got it now rather than back then, as it is more complex then it looks. Molds used are the originals from the 1950's but there wasn't much flash to clean up , surprisingly! As far as detail, there is more in this kit than the 1/48 kit offered by revell I think. All crew compartments have opening top- hatches, with interior detail for Pilot,navigator, and weapons officer.All control surfaces are movable. The engine pods have removable covers, and the engine itself can also be removed for servicing . The landing gear is also Retractable with operating gear doors. Go slow doing the gear assemblies, and test fit , and study the directions carefully on this step! The SAC decals for the side of the cockpit were printed the same so , I cut the one side and reversed it to create the mirror image needed for the opposite side. Overall assembly,and fit of all parts was very good even for such an old kit! Kind of an odd scale(1/64) but once built not really noticeable,but great if you are looking for a jet to fly over your S-scale train layout!!
