I'm a little disappointed that the kit is so simple. I do plan on opening the doors and making an interior for the landing. This should be an interesting build!

"This model is awesome"

This LST is amazing ! I bought about 4 or 5 and their sitting in my self above my desk. They are easy to build however to put the flag on is kind of hard and the decals aren't to easy but after all the work it looks amazing. If you don't believe me on how good the quality is I'm a tour guide at a public open World War 2 model exhibit so I give the LST's a museum quality A +. The only problem I have run into is displaying. You have the ability to leave the bow doors open or closed , if you leave them open you'll have to put them on a beach or land display. Over all I love the model Spencer

I was inherently surprised building this kit! There are a few different versions out there of the same one, the only difference is the decals they come with. I happened to get the modern tool that only came with 3 decal options. Getting into the kit is pretty simple, I found few issues with fit as far as the deck, hull, and superstructures. I do highly recommend putting the hatch/porthole decals on before adding the superstructure to the deck since the LCVP davits get in the way. The instructions are pretty clear, there are some steps that use arrows and multiply symbols to represent the other side that I did not understand at first. The painting was very simple, however, I don't totally agree with the painting options they have in the instructions, so I opted just for a black bottom, grey hull, and gunmetal decks. I 100% recommend this kit for both novice and expert builders, as it comes out fantastic with no skills, or could be made museum quality with an expert's touch.

An easy build if you make the World War II version. It becomes a challenge when you modify the ship to it's current configuration using scratch built and spare parts from other kits. Tooling for this kit is in good condition as there is very little flash and cleaning of parts required.
