Mil 24 Hind looks superb once finished, even when the model is the old Monogram one, lighty improved by Revell. The most purist modelers will find some inaccuracy, but the beginner modeler will not have a problem. Being a Revell model means the instruction sheet is not that good. Make sure and read the instructions and dry fit all the pieces before gluing. This set does not include decals for the Russian version which most people would associate this helicopter with.

This was, unfortunately, one of the worst kits i have ever put together. However, taking into consideration that it's very affordable, and the issues can be worked out, it does balance out. This Hind comes with the standard loadout for weapons that you typically see on this helicopter and you get to choose from East German and Polish markings. The instructions are pretty good and show examples of camouflage to mach each set of markings. The design of this model is very strange at times and could be simplified. There was a lot of fit issues during the entire building process, the worst of which was the canopy. The detail of the kit was okay, but again taking into account the price, thats alright. What I think was the worst part of this kit was that the rocket pods are not separate from the pylons which are not seprate from the wings, and look terrible. The cone where the rockets would be is completely wrong and are made to look like the rockets are sticking outside of the pod. I'd recommend buying nicer ones to put on this kit, or removing the stock ones and have empty pylons. Even with all the trouble that comes with this Hind, it's still possible to make a nice looking kit. I would only recommend this to a model builder with experience in dealing with poorly designed models that are difficult to work with.

I found this model to be very detailed. The decals are nice,but would of liked an option for a Russian aircraft. The parts fit is good. For those who would like to add more detail to their model there are Resin and PE after market set aviable for this kit. Overall a nice offering from Revell. I would recommend this kit.
