U.S. Coast Guard Patrol Boat

Pretty nice kit of what is actually a post WWII Cutter. Though the box art is dramatic, I don't think we were still sinking U-Boats in combat in 1946!! Gotta love internet research! Anyway, the kit builds up really nice, parts fit was good except for the hull halves. both had a twist/warp to them, in the both examples my friend and I bought. the bow was the worst part, so we started there and used ACC glue to assemble them, and slowly worked our way back to the stern. It got much easier about half way down, and worked out well when finished.Tip- if in this process you find a line of Acc on the bottom of the keel, a few swipes w/an emory board will take care of it. The rest of the assembly was straight forward, with good parts fit w/little fileing sanding. At 1/82 scale it could be used on an H.O. train layout port/harbor dock scene,and though it comes w/a couple of figures, some more could be added if desired. Multiple decal options come w/ it to make several different cutters, for different time frames of its service w/USCG. great bargain for the price!! Recommended for experienced or senior modeler.
