"Only choice for Mi-24 in this scale"
emaurice (Denver, CO)
This kit is widely available. It is an older kit, with uneven details, and certain shapes issues (e.g., tail rotor). It is currently your only choice if you want to build a Hind in 1/48. Trumpeter has issued a Hind in this scale, but the sprues are essentially the same (except for the P version, where the half right fuselage is modified for the fixed 30mm cannon). Assembly is easy, but special care is required when bringing the fuselage halves together (You need to properly alight the base of the main rotor mast, the front bulkhead with the cockpit...) The details are good for the main rotor, but the cockpit details are very light (one piece for the cockpit and seats). There is a plethora for aftermarket details for this kit: cockpit enhancements, external enhancements, including heat exchanger... Also many aftermarket decals are available. So.... Not a great kit, but it comes together nicely with a little care. And most importantly, it's your only choice in this scale.

"russian helicopter build"

I know that this is not a new kit but considering that, it does have some unique issues. Engine detail is nice and simple but the main rotor mechanism is very good detail. Internally the cockpit is crisp (detail could have been applied to the instrument panel but painting posed no problem. It is a good sized model for 1/48 scale but the interior color was hard to find but mix one's own color was not to hard, Light blue, dark navy blue, green, and black gave me the bluish/green color needed. I had a lot of fun building this model and since I only build stationary wing models, this was a little of a challenge.

"Excellent Unit . Best of the Best"
JRB (Burleson, Texas)
This is 1 excellent model. The details are nice. Enough to keep you busy and involved. Those Ruskies really know how to design and build heavy duty utilitarian helicopters. I enjoyed building this one and really had fun with the paint scheme. I will recommend this unit as a must have to anyone who ejoys rotary wing aircraft.
