This kit is fantastic for modelers of all skill levels. It is relatively easy to assemble, and provides authentic detail. However, if you are looking to get a good finish on the model, you may want to consider buying some of these items if you don't have them already. I would recommend getting glue that you can apply through a fine nozzle, as the model can be delicate to large sums of glue, and these can be difficult to fix. Next, some modeling putty would go a long way because there are some places in the model that don't fit great. Finally, decal setting solution really aides the decals on this model because they can be a bit bubbly and difficult. Airfix did a great job with this kit, and I, personally, have grown quite fond of their kits recently. Overall, this is a great model for all skill levels, and it exemplifies what modeling is about as a hobby, having fun.

"Excellent kit at a low price!"

All the quality you would expect from an Airfix kit, priced very affordably. This would be a good first model if you're looking to get into the hobby. I had a very easy time following the instructions and assembling the kit properly. The decals are new and in perfect condition, and I didn't have any difficulty removing them from their sheet and fixing them onto my model. This plane looks great on my shelf, except that I accidentally ruined the cockpit canopy piece in a tragic paint thinner accident. There is a backup windshield piece, but unfortunately no backup canopy. I also found that it was easiest to carefully paint on the metal canopy frames with a steady hand, rather than use the tedious method of painter's tape to try and get straight lines. If you'd prefer not to do this freehand, you can buy putty to act as painter's tape. All in all, I highly recommend this kit! For $8 its an absolute steal.

"simply perfect!"

Although the spitfire was more famous, it was the hurricane that held up the air. the mk1 is characterized by having its wings covered with canvas, not metal like the later ones (mk2 forward). But even on mk1 there were 2 different versions: the early one, which proved the good base for a fighter and a later one. the main difference is the propeler, where the first one was a wood 2 blade fixed pitch, and the second metal three blade constant speed/variable pitch. Even if the parts are roughly the same, this later version is simply perfect! the interior is superb, the gear wells are a piece of art. A nice model to be near the new mould spitfire. Perfect fitting, no putty necessary.

Excellent kit. I am not particularly a Hurricane lover, but this kit really caught my attention. The construction is a bit unusual and there were a few fiddly moments mounting the wings to the fuselage, but anyone who has build a plastic model before should have no real issues. The detail and look is lovely and with the kit decals it will build up into a lovely kit. Highly recommended.
