"Fokker D VII, !/72 scale plane by Revell"

This is a very nice kit. It was also molded in white which made it easier to cover with paint. It fit together nicely and there was no flash in my sample. All of the panel lines were molded in nicely and when finished you will have a nice looking model for your collection. The plane parts are wrapped in a plastic bag to protect them and the decals come covered with paper film , wrapped in separate directions for them. A very nice touch. Highly recommended

"Berthold's Ride"

I purchased two of these little kits because the price is right and the D7 is my favorite WWI fighter. I planned to complete two marking options, but my assumption that I would be offered more than one was incorrect. The only marking option is the red, white and blue craft of Oblt. Rudolph Berthold of Ja Sta 11, 1918. No problem. I still assembled both kits and found another option online for which I will make some custom decals. The kit has only about 30 parts and builds up quickly, unless you do what I did, which is to purchase Tom's Model Works detail set and scratchbuild a cockpit. Then it takes a little longer. One of my kits had a major piece malformed: the starboard side fuselage half was incomplete at the nose. So I built up the missing engine cowling with Tamiya putty. Generally, fit was OK. All pieces have molding lines that must be removed and some flash was present. The landing gear assembly in particular was vague. On the plus side, the wings have a nice fabric texture and the decals are excellent. Painting was not difficult, but the German camouflage is time consuming. Decals are provided as guides for the camouflage under wings and under stabilizer. These decals are white with the lozenges of the various camouflage colors outlined. The camo utilizes four colors but the callouts provided are not helpful. I was unable to find a color photo of this scheme so I took my best guess. I took my time and spent several days painting the camo. I am pleased with the result and rate this little kit highly.

Easy construction, and also includes a figure for the cockpit which is nice. Do wish the wing setup was a little more sturdy. But for the price its a nice kit.

While this kit isn't as detailed as the Roden kits it is still a fun build. There are a few problems such as the wing join which needs some filler and the Tail which needed some sanding and fixing. My kit had little to no flash and actually fitted together quite well despite the wing and tail. The wing and struts lined up perfectly and provided a secure fit. Overall I would recommend this kit to someone who wants to get into WW1 Modelling ( I mean heck, it was my first biplane and I managed to build it up well!)
