"DD-797, a great addition to Tamiya's line of U.S. ships"

I have just finished building this kit & found it quite straightforward, much like the DD-445 'Fletcher' kit released earlier. It has a good number of tiny parts such as 20-mm antiaircraft guns which can be difficult to place, even using tweezers. Having said that, I managed to complete the kit in about 3 days and am impressed with the result. I actually found it to be a bit of an improvement on the DD-445 kit. I would like to see Tamiya create more of the U.S. destroyer lines from World War 2 - their kits are always great fun to build.

"Not Disappointing"

I bought this ship in a store a few years back, and just completed this recently. I was very pleased! It flew together in a matter of hours, and despite many small pieces it turned out great. I am very new to the hobby, so I thought it was great. Experienced hobbyists might find it too easy, but I don't know. The only downfall I saw was that there is a lack of detail on the deck itself. The open parts of the deck are rather bland, and some railings or rigging might have been nice. Also, there is a wall portion that needs to be cut off the main deck, and it's not easy to do; it also leaves 'scarring' on the deck. However, as I said, I am not very good at modelling and so that might be my own fault. Overall, I love it. It's not expensive and looks beautiful on display.

"Tiny parts."

For such a small scale I am impressed by the amount details. Tweezers are a great tool for placing the small parts. I'm excited to add this water-line ship to the rest of my fleet.

"Great kit for the price, well detailed."

Great little kit for the price. Built out of the box and added to my 1/350th collection. Highly recommended.
