"Pretty good but it has its problems"

Its a good model and its a fun build. But for the price it has its problems like some pieces don't fight together properly but they are pretty simple fixes. The supports of the bow and aft towers are really fragile but if you take some care with it they will be fine.Overall it was a fun build and it was nice but it has some problems.

"First attempt at 1/700 scale building"

I used this model (and price) for my first attempt in a long time at 1/700 ships. Most all parts went together well, except I had trouble with the main tripod mast and getting the wing floats on the planes. Good starter kit though I think. Next project is more 1/700 destroyers: Hammon and Cushing; USS San Francisco and CV2 Lexinton.

"Great value for the money"

For a small scale kit - this is an excellent choice to build. I built the Hobby Boss 1/350 scale Arizona kit 4 years ago and this kit is almost an exact Mini-Me of that kit. It has almost all the same parts, just half the size of the 1/350 kit - so there is plenty of detail to work with. Maybe too much detail as in the case of the observation decks. I will say that these decks went together better on this small kit than they did the Large kit. A kit this small is a bit of a challenge with my Gigantor hands, but it assembled easy enough that my vocabulary did not increase during construction. The only real ding I have of this kit is the decals - they are really tiny and are squished together so close on the sheet that cutting them out is almost impossible. They also have a tendency to break apart and not stick well. Using some Micro-Scale brush on decal film before application helped hold them together and a little white glue wash applied once they are in place, holds them where they need to be.

Comments

Due to small parts that could cause a choking hazard please keep away from children 3 years of age and younger.
