Star Trek USS Enterprise A

Let me begin by saying that this is by far the best recreation of the studio model of the USS Enterprise NCC 1701 Refit / A [You have the option to create either one of the two]. I ordered this item from Hobbylinc all the way from Dubai, United Arab Emirates and I received it in perfect condition! [Very important: You will have to visit Karama Post office to collect your orders from Customs in Dubai]. Any hobbyist in the Middle East looking for quality service, across a diversified product portfolio should use Hobbylinc as their premier hub for purchase.

Even though the kit has been around awhile I have recently purchased it to added to the collection of builds. The kit comes in a sturdy box with great cover art on the front of the box. On the rear of the box is a brief history and photos of the completed model. The parts count for the kit is 150+. They are molded in white and clear styrene. The directions are clear and easily understandable. Painting, decaling and aztecing directions are included. All decals are included for an accurate representation of the ship itself. I would give the molding quality of the ship a 9.5 there is some flash that has to be taken care of. The overall detail of the ship gets a 10 and it will make an incredible model. The box states this is a level 2 kit for ages 10+. That I find to be misleading upon opening the box you get to actually see how huge the ship actually is. The kit is definitely a higher level and is not suitable for younger beginner modelers. Even for a seasoned modeler this model will take time and effort to complete. Additional aftermarket parts for this kit are available and lighting kits also. So if you really want to go the extra mile for an outstanding kit I suggest looking into those also. I highly recommend this kit for the serious Trek lover who wants an accurate, large display of a beautiful Star Ship!

Huge detailed kit! This thing is beautiful. It screams for lighting and there are a lot of lighting kits out there so no excuses! The parts are crisp clean and fit very well. The decals are wonderful and the saucer to body construction is well thought out. I recommend either epoxy or plastiweld for the large sections to avoid droop as well as a homemade jig to hold the pieces in place while they dry. Its aftermarket galore with this kit so after you buy it let it sit for a while and come up with a game plan before even touching it. This is the best representation of the Enterprise Refit there is so it should be the pinnacle of you're Trek collection. Until you buy the 1/35 TOS Enterprise!
