"Very Good Kit for the cost"

The Kit is molded in gray plastic. Panel lines are recessed and detail is adequate throughout. The engraved detail is good but not as refined or extensive as that of the Eduard kit. There is a moderate amount of flash on some parts. The clear pieces are good quality and the only aftermarket items used were Eduard pre-painted seatbelts for the cockpit. The kit decals are thin, opaque and in register. Radar antennas requires work to get in correct position. Nice kit and simple to build,(except for antennas) the cockpit is really good. Realistically weighted tires are a nice touch.

I finished this kit yesterday and have to say that overall I am very impressed with it. In addition to the kit parts I used canopy masks and then used thread to represent the radio antenna wires. When one opens the kits and looks at the grey plastic sprues one cannot help but feel that this will build into an impressive looking machine. The clear parts are excellent and one must determine which aircraft they are going to build as that will determine which canopy parts are to be used. Markings for two aircraft are supplied and I chose the one that did not involve the toothy grin. My experience with teeth and contours has not been a good one overall and I did not want to risk it on this kit. It is too bad as I liked the overall look of the mottled machine better. Fit of the pieces was pretty good with the exception being the engine joints to the wing. Lots of putty work required there. I also did not like the method of joining the wing to the fuselage. Lots of trimming and sanding away was required to get it to sit nicely. I gave serious thought to the painting of this model and decided that many of the major subassemblies would be painted before attachment. There are lots of complex curves and pieces interfering with one another if one tries to mask areas to be painted after construction. If you choose to follow my example them make sure you dry fit your sub assemblies to et the best fit possible to help minimize the number of touchups required post build. Take a look at the instruction sheet ahead of building. This model has lots of tiny pieces that are screaming out to be broken off if they are assembled in the order the instructions tell you to follow. Sadly the pitot tube is moulded into the wing and it is lengthy and of course I managed to break mine off but repaired it when all else was done. Many of these pieces can be added at the end with no trouble. The radar antenna are finicky to get into place. Lots of photos exist of 110s with the antenna being shown in different angles. Some are almost straight up and down while others are canted at up to 45 degree angles. This model is quite large so make sure you leave yourself space to turn it around as you work on it. The decals went on quite nicely and the decal sheet is quite extensive. A little more help with decal placement on the instruction sheets would have saved me some time in looking at other sources for proper placement. All in all a very nice build with a few minor issues along the way. It makes up into a sharp model that looks quite menacing sitting on the shelf. There are many aftermarket products available including lots of decal sheets. The beautiful thing about German night fighters is the almost unlimited colour schemes available. One is really only limited by ones own abilities to apply the complicated and intense camouflage schemes. I can recommend this kit to anyone who is at least a moderately skilled builder, it would be too difficult for a newbie.

A nice offering from Revell. Detail is excellent and fit is good. The only thing I would add is an Eduard photo etch cockpit set. Decals are nice.
